Easter Sun Holidays

A week in the sun over Easter? Yes please! With three options, all amazing, all for 7 nights during the 2018 Easter mid-term break, I have broken down the options to see which one suits you and your children best.

Firstly, you could visit a wonderfully traditional country to experience a completely difference way of celebrating Easter this year, in Malta on March 26th. Local celebrations, parades, processions and gatherings abound, with traditional gifts, meals and events to mark this religious holiday.

Local days out would include Playmobil, Popeye’s Village and of course exploring the surrounding villages and old town neighbourhoods, to name just a few.

Your hotel is right on the marina, just 15mins walk from the town centre of Sliema and overlooking some beautiful coastlines. A 24-hr internet cafe, rooftop swimming pool overlooking the harbour, and a range of dining options will ensure you’re more than comfortable here. A pool table and children’s play area will give the children something to do, and your air-conditioned spacious room offers all the comforts of home.

A second choice is Lanzarote on March 27th, in the wonderful Costa Teguise. Boasting a large themed swimming pool with slides and Jacuzzi at its centre, this 4* hotel has a Mini Club for kids, tennis courts and a solarium, and is set in beautiful manicured gardens.

The bedrooms are themed like the pool area, with cosy sleeping areas hidden in cave-like cubby holes and volcano beds to thrill the kiddies! Air conditioning, outside balcony or terrace area, bath & shower with hairdryer provided are standard for all rooms.

Costa Teguise as a location has everything, with a choice of beaches and surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops to stroll around and discover.

The third sun holiday this Easter is March 30th to Majorca, and it’s a goodie. Just 800m from Alcudia Beach and just a short distance from town, this is a fantastic family friendly hotel. A total of 8 swimming pools plus 2 children’s pools, a massive artificial lake, 2 buffet restaurants, an a la carte restaurant, a brasserie and a pizzeria will give you plenty to enjoy, along with the various lounge and cocktail bars.

A Kids Club, sports areas, mini golf and even a go-karting track will keep the children very busy, and the relaxing pool side lounge areas are perfect for a day of topping up your Vitamin C reserves.

The apartments are self-catering, spacious and fully equipped, and available in various sizes and upgrades.

In order to narrow down your options, I’ve detailed the prices according to family size, for the lowest meal plan available in the following table.

Flight prices are from Skyscanner.com and correct at the time of going to press. Fly to Malta from Dublin for €209pp, Lanzarote from Dublin for €320pp, or just €188 to Majorca from Shannon.
